Background and History

Jaipurhat Government Technical School and College is one of the leading technical and vocational educational institutions in Jaipurhat district. In 1974, it was established as "Vocational Training Institute" with the aim of developing the youth of the region as skilled human resources. The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has been conducting SSC (Vocational) since 1997 and HSC (Vocational) since 2000 under the Ministry of Education to promote technical education in combination with technical and general education.

The institution is located at the historic Khanjanpur Mission Junction of Ward No. 1 of the municipality, west of Jaipurhat district town of Rajshahi division. The small river Yamuna flows behind the institution.

  JSC (Vocational), SSC (Vocational) and HSC (Vocational) education programs are being conducted under Bangladesh Technical Education Board with the slogan "One goal, be skilled". JSC (Vocational) course from 6th to 8th standard provides technical education in one subject along with general education and SSC (Vocational) and HSC (Vocational) courses are taught in four different trades by skilled and experienced teachers.
